The Busyness of Business

Well... I'm at it again... Constantly working... I have been on the road with my 9 to 5 for the past few days but things are getting better... I often wonder do others work as hard as I do or maybe even harder. If others are working harder I would love to know how they do it. I am constantly working on improving my business, communicating with customers, keeping up with all the social networking sites, etc. Not to mention "handling the business" of the business. I have recently been updating my business plans, licenses, copyrights, you name it... Whoo... I'm pooped going over it all in my head... I love what I do and I wouldn't trade it .... I love the busyness of business...

How do you reach for the sky while stopping to smell the Roses?

People often tell me to "stop and smell the Roses" or "Relax, slow down, your doing too much". I rarely take the advice, but when I do, I often hear voices... I hear voices of people who are where I want to be saying "what are you doing" or while you're relaxing someone else is revving up". I am often torn between taking some time for Carmelita and putting all of my time into C. J. Shaw. I have a 9 to 5 that often feels like a 24/7 so my time is limited to start with. I will be 30 years old this year, I always have a "to-do" list, and I am always planning for my next big thing. I want my business to grow therefore I am always coming up with marketing strategies that take time to implement. I want to see C. J. Shaw become a household name. I want to paint, design, photograph, create, and write. I have so many thoughts and ideas that bounce around in my head all day. I understand burnout-I truly do but, again, I ask the question- how do I make these two ideals work together?

For Southerners, like myself, we know today is the start of hurricane season... Just the thought of it makes me want to get into high gear and not waste another second... I guess this is something I will struggle with for the time being... I go over this in my head periodically but would like to hear from you...
